“Made in Germany” is not only a highly respected label in the industry, but also when it comes to studying degrees. Germany ranks fourth among the most popular locations for international students. In 2018, the amount of foreign students at German universities was 13 percent. German universities are especially known for their expertise in engineering and natural sciences.

On October 22th 2019, Ambassador Thomas Schneider hosted an event at his residence to welcome back  Omani students who had just graduated in Germany and handed over certificates to acknowledge their achievements. At the same time he bade farewell to 21 Omani students holding scholarships of Oman’s Ministry of Higher Education who will travel to Germany at the end of October. They will study German in Marburg and attend university foundation courses in order to prepare the students for their studies at German universities. These courses have been organized by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) on behalf of the Omani Ministry of Higher Education since 2005.
