National Visas - Family reunion with a person with subsidiary protection status

Since 1 August 2018 close family members (spouses, minor single children and parents of minor children) of persons with subsidiary protection status living in Germany will be entitled to apply for a family reunion visa. Family members (residing in Oman or Yemen) willing to join can register with their applications details via the following special Website:

Once applicants have registered they will be granted in a separate E-Mail an appointment and are invited to submit their application at the German Embassy in Muscat. Given the high number of applicants this may take up to several months.


The following documents have to be submitted:


1.

2 filled and signed application forms for National Visas (Videx online available on our website https://videx-national.diplo.de/

2.

2 biometric passport photos with a light background (detailed information see here: https://tinyurl.com/y7lcjv5k)

3.

Passport + 2 copies

4.

Proof of subsidiary protection status of the family member in Germany/Residence Permit

5.

Proof of relationship to the family member in Germany + 2 copies (for spouses: birth certificate, marriage contract AND marriage certificate/registration where applicable, for children: the parents’ marriage contract AND marriage certificate/registration where applicable + the child’s birth certificate) with certified translations ( into English or German)

6.

If available: from the applicant proof of German language courses attended in the home country or country of residence/proof of educational Degrees or Diploma (+ 2 copies)

If available: additional documents with translations (+ 2 copies) about the present personal circumstances of the applicant and his/her living conditions in the country of residence

If available : from the family member in Germany language certificates , employment contract, tenancy agreement (“Mietvertrag”) (+ 2 copies each)

7.

Visa fee (75€ for adults, 35€ for minors to be paid in cash in OMR according to the current exchange rate)

8.

A health insurance certificate for the first 3 months has to be submitted after the application has been approved by the responsible authorities in Germany. The Embassy will advise in due time.

9.

The visa application procedure takes several weeks. Therefore it is very important to ensure that the documents are complete once an appointment to submit the visa application has been granted. Additional documents may be requested by the Embassy.
