The Embassy can certify copies of original German and English documents only for official use in Germany. We can however not certify the authenticity of the document itself neither stamp or endorse it for official use in Oman.

Also “Non-Objection-Certificates” for use in Oman are not issued by the Embassy.

Since the Apostille Convention is in force for Oman and Germany public documents are no longer legalized by the Embassy.

You can then use the document with Apostille in Oman without contacting the German Embassy. The Federal Office of Administration (BVA) is responsible for issuing apostille solely for certificates issued by German federal agencies (Federal ministries, Federal Office of Justice, Federal courts). It is not responsible for affixing Apostille to official registry or court docu-ments, or documents issued by state or local authorities. In this case please contact the issuing authority directly for advice where to apply for an Apostille.
