National Visas - Family reunion with refugees

Applicants wishing to join a family member holding full refugee status, please follow the below instructions.
If you would like to apply for a visa for family reunion, please prepare the following documents for every applicant individually:
1. | 2 filled and signed application forms for National Visas (Videx Online available on our website at https://videx-national.diplo.de/ |
2. | 2 biometric passport photos with a light background (see https://tinyurl.com/y7lcjv5k) |
3. | Passport + 2 copies |
4. | 2 copies of the passport and residence permit of the family member in Germany |
5. | 2 copies of the letter of notification about the recognition as a refugee (“Bescheid”) |
6. | Proof of relationship to the family member in Germany + 2 copies (for spouses: birth certificate, marriage contract AND marriage certificate/registration where applicable, for children: the parents’ marriage contract AND marriage certificate/registration where applicable + the child’s birth certificate) with certified translations ( into English or German) |
7. | Visa fee (75€ for adults, 35€ for minors. Must be paid in cash in OMR according to the current exchange rate) |
8. | Additional documents may be requested by the Embassy. Please note that all documents that are not in German or English need to be provided with a translation by a certified translator into German or English. The visa application procedure takes several weeks. Therefore it is very important to ensure that the documents are complete when filing the application. |
9. | You need to book an appointment for a National Visa on the Embassy’s online visa appointment booking system at www.maskat.diplo.de/appointment. |
10. | A health insurance certificate for the first 3 months must be submitted after the application has been approved by the competent authorities in Germany. The Embassy will inform you accordingly in due time. |
